Nikhil Gupta

Hello, I am Nikhil Gupta, a first year Mechanical Engineering student and an active member of the Prosthetics society. My previous interests in engineering have made me appreciate the process of designing with constraints and engineering trade-offs and I have enjoyed the challenge of working with human-centric constraints in the Prothetics society. Outside academics, I enjoy meeting and building relationships with people which I believe will help when connecting with the prosthetics industry.

Society events with sponsors such as the talk with Ottobock have been great as I gained an insight into the real engineering decisions made in industry to ensure that the product is practical and accessible to users. For me this is one of the great benefits of having strong industry connections and this is what I would aim to build on.

I would love the chance to work with industry to benefit the society and I would aim to work with the social media officer to use media to make us more attractive to sponsors. Maintaining industry relationships that we already have would also be a big priority and I want to reach out to more companies, potentially through exploring alumni connections in order to create more opportunities. I enjoy collaboration and I would be happy to discuss any ideas that you have. I am proud of what we have achieved this year and I am ready to share this success with the industry.
