Prosthetics: Sponsorship Officer

Hey, I’m Marat

I’m a first year Mechanical Engineering student and I am part of the Knee Sub-team. I really enjoy building prosthetics, but as an engineer I believe that seeing your product being used and helping people is as important as the design process itself.

My vision is to orientate the society towards real projects. This would drive students forward, motivating them to meet deadlines, execute projects, and bring real value to the society we all live in. The first big goal that I would like to work towards is the 2028 Cybathlon. A minimum of £5000 entry fee is required, and I am confident that this is an achievable milestone in a span of 3 years. Sponsorships would also allow the society to host its own events, like Hackathons and other socials, creating a real community feel to its members.

By bringing sponsors on board I would also like to improve Prosthetics merch, incorporating sponsor logos and our own designs into it (think: having a print of the prosthetics arm on your sleeve)

As great as sponsorships are, they require a lot of effort to go through, however I know exactly how to get them. Over the past few years I’ve raised more than £20,000 for various charity events, improving my outreach and persistence. These skills also extend into my professional life, I’ve secured a summer internship exclusively through word of mouth and LinkedIn.

Thank you for your support, it is much appreciated!
