Ruslana Mudra
I have been a long-standing member of Ukrainian Society since first year, back when the society was just starting with a small group of students. Over the years, it has been incredible to see our community grow, welcoming more members and building a stronger presence within Imperial.
I have truly enjoyed being part of many of our social events: from Mafia Night and Winter Ball, to boat party and restaurant socials at the Ukrainian social club. These events have created lasting friendships and a real sense of belonging. As Secretary, I would be committed to continuing our tradition of organising memorable, fun socials that bring people together.
I also want to strengthen and expand our collaborations with other London universities such as King's, UCL and Queen Mary's and even build connections with universities beyond London. Growing these networks allows us to create larger events, broaden friendships, and strengthen the Ukrainian student community across the UK.
Equally important to me are our cultural and religious celebrations. Events such as Christmas meals, Easter pysanky decorations, and Ivana Kupala are beautiful traditions that deserve to be celebrated and shared. I would love to help create more opportunities not only for Ukrainians to connect with their roots, but also to introduce students from other cultures to our food, traditions, and language.
Ukrainian Society has been a meaningful part of my university experience, and as Secretary, I would work hard to ensure it continues to grow, unite, and celebrate our culture with energy and heart.
