Anisha Pervin
Hi everyone,
My name is Anisha and I’m a fourth year medic intercalating in Haematology. I’ve always found haematology to be one of the most fascinating and dynamic specialties, sitting at the forefront of medicine with its cutting-edge therapies and evolving disease understanding. Having had the opportunity to explore it in greater depth this year, I am keen to share my passion with others and help build a society that showcases everything haematology has to offer.
Alongside my academic interests, I bring extensive leadership experience. Currently, I am Vice President of Outreach & Welfare for the Islamic Society, where I manage a team to execute large-scale events and campaigns, develop welfare initiatives, and collaborate with organisations both within and beyond the university. This role has strengthened my ability to lead collaboratively, and I am eager to apply these skills within an academic setting to help shape Haematology Society with vision and ambition.
As Chair, my main goal is to give haematology the hype it deserves!
I would love to host specialty panels and keynote lectures highlighting the diverse career pathways and emerging topics in research. I also hope to organise research-focused workshops that make academic involvement in haematology more accessible as the field rapidly evolves. Finally, I would prioritise collaboration with other medical societies and universities to expand our network and strengthen our society’s presence.
Ultimately, I am committed to making this society more engaging and ambitious than ever before!
Thank you :)
