Arif Alauddin Wafi
Engineers shape systems. Engineers Without Borders shapes impact. My name's Arif, and I'm running for the EWB Chair position because I believe we can do both better, together.
Serving as this year’s Events Officer gave me insight into how much potential we hold and where we can grow.
As Chair, I want to continue our pursuit of responsible engineering that serves communities and the planet with sustainability and environmental impact as our foundation. My goal is clear: strengthen internal structure, deepen real-world impact, and create an environment for members to grow technically and professionally.
First, I will prioritize project continuity. I wish to continue the success of this year's committee in establishing projects in the industry, hopefully with a more structured handover and defined technical milestones, so our work builds on rather than restarts.
Second, I hope to get all our committee members more involved with EWB's development and planning by increasing collaboration between all members. This includes increasing communication between all teams, not just between the committee but also our members. I hope to establish a society that enables all members provide ideas for our collective betterment and growth.
Most importantly, I want our society to feel energising, not overwhelming. Impact should be ambitious but sustainable—for the communities we serve and for ourselves. If elected, I’ll lead with structure, transparency, and openness. Let’s build a branch that engineers solutions thoughtfully, collaboratively, and with purpose.
Vote Arif for Chair :)
