I am excited to run for the position of Design Engineering Alumni Secretary.

Over the past year, I have gained valuable experience working within our cohort and supporting activities that connect students with industry. Through helping to organise events such as the IBM session and other professional engagement opportunities, I have developed a clearer understanding of what our community needs, meaningful connections, practical insights, and stronger links with alumni and industry partners.

These experiences have allowed me to build organisational skills, coordinate communication between different stakeholders, and ensure events run smoothly. More importantly, they have shown me how impactful a well-connected alumni network can be for current students — whether through career advice, portfolio feedback, or simply sharing honest experiences about life after university.

If elected as Alumni Secretary, I would like to continue strengthening our alumni relationships by organising more targeted networking events, maintaining clearer communication channels, and making it easier for students to access alumni support. I hope to build on the foundations already established and expand opportunities that are both professionally valuable and genuinely engaging.

I am committed, organised, and enthusiastic about continuing to serve our Design Engineering community. It would be a privilege to contribute further and help create lasting connections that benefit both current students and future graduates.
