Oncology: Palliative care officer

Hi everyone! I am Amogh, a second-year medical student with a passion for oncology. I’m excited to be running for palliative care officer, a role that would allow me to get involved, and I believe I am well-suited for this role due to my teamwork, compassion, and leadership skills.

Having been on committees for countless other societies this year, I have the necessary insight and skills that will help me ensure the tasks are done on time, and I will work with utmost diligence and professionalism.

Having seen palliative care firsthand on placement, I feel I have a great appreciation for it. I will work closely with the executive committee to plan this and will step up whenever needed, not just limiting myself to the role I am selected for. Additionally, I aim to liaise with academic societies like SurgSoc and HaemSoc, hosting cross-disciplinary events that highlight the interplay oncology has with other specialties. I also plan to help provide networking opportunities with palliative care doctors andsinteract with like-minded peers and professionals, and I would give back by raising awareness around the importance of palliative care research.

I believe I am able to bring strong teamwork, event-planning and leadership skills to this role. Most importantly, I am committed to making Onco Soc’s academic initiatives more profound. I hope you all vote for me and I promise to give my best in this role. Thank you so much! :)
