Josef Mariano

Hi! I'm Josef, a 2nd year Maths student, and I'm running for FilSoc Treasurer.

From the moment I joined Imperial, I have always found a home in the Filipino Society. Certainly this is due to our strong sense of community and vibes, but our events truly elevate the society to the warm, welcoming place it has been for the past few years. However, to properly do so in London isn't trivial, requiring a handle on the society's finances. I hope that I will be able to leverage my quantitative skills in order to be of good service to this role.

My plan for the following year is to make the society's budget go further so we can enjoy events all year round, making sure venues aren't overcharging for bookings. I will also guide our partnership with various Filipino brands and businesses that are operating in London to ensure that we spread the message of Filipino food and passionate singing!

My time here has been exceptional, and I wish to keep this up for the next year for all of you! <3
