Kerry Wang

Hello guys! This is Kerry Wang, a passionate 1st year student in Design Engineering. Although a newcomer to the department and the Ideas Lab community, I’ve spent lots of time around the lab this year. I really enjoy working on fun projects and meeting talented people in this space. I believe Ideas Lab is the ideal space for DesEng students (and all Imperial students) to innovate and create, and it has great potential. On the flip side, I see problems and room for improvement within the lab. Availability of tools and parts, bond as a community, etc. That’s why I’m running for Ideas Lab Operations Manager, to strengthen Ideas' capabilities and contribute to this amazing community.

I've Done:

• Inducted many new members
• (Almost) daily maintenance of 3D printers and other equipment in the lab
• Helping others in the lab whenever needed
• Sending tips and reminders in the member’s group chat
• Contribute to Drafting the 3D printing User Guide

I Will:

• Push to renovate/clear out old equipment, like the PCB printer, CNC machine, etc.
• Host fun skill-up sessions for 3D printing, laser cutting, and more
• Implement a better system to manage the usage and maintenance of 3D printers for the benefit of everyone
• Be a nice guy and help people out
