Shivank Shrivastav

Hi, I'm Shivank and I’m running to be your External Research Coordinator in SORA. I’m passionate about connecting members with research opportunities beyond Imperial and helping students gain experience in both academia and industry.

Most recently, I’ve been developing a surgical recovery monitoring app, which involved reaching out to clinicians and researchers for feedback, coordinating input from multiple stakeholders, and exploring access to datasets for machine learning. Among other experiences, this work has taught me the value of networking, persistence, and strategic organisation.

As part of my role, my goals include to:

• Expand external partnerships with universities, research labs, hospitals, and startups, giving members access to a wider range of projects.

• Create a centralised database of opportunities, making it easier to find placements aligned with members’ interests and career goals.

• Support mentorship and networking, helping students connect with researchers and secure placements or collaborations.
