Archery: Fletcher

Hi everyone! My name is Ishaan. I am a first-year PhD student and second-year archer, and I am running to be a fletcher next year.

Through the last approximately 17 months, I have developed my experience in archery and its equipment. Part of this involved putting my first arrows together around a year ago, taught by our current fletcher. Since then, I have continued to set up and fletch my own arrows - making mistakes along the way - but building my experience of fletching and equipment (with the help of more senior members of my affiliated clubs and my coach). I also helped deliver the recurve off-line equipment talk during this year's Beginner's Course. I believe that the fletcher role entails helping the Equipment Officer manage the club equipment, fletching arrows, and helping teach newer members about fletching and equipment. While I believe there is still much for me to learn, especially outside of recurve, I believe my experience makes me suitable for fletcher.

I also think I have the motivation to be fletcher. After learning much from the more senior members of my affiliated clubs, I would like to give back to ICAC and continue the cycle of supporting the skill development of newer members should they wish to learn about archery equipment, while still continuing to learn more myself. I also enjoy fletching arrows and maintaining or tweaking equipment (as well as using it as much as possible!), and hope to do that as fletcher.
