Finance: Head of Sell Side

Hey everyone, I’m Roger. I’m running for Head of Sell Side because I want the sell-side part of FinSoc to be more active and easier to get involved with, whether you’re leaning towards investment banking or markets.

I’m running because this path can feel unclear at the start, and I want to make sell-side prep more consistent and useful for anyone going for Spring Weeks and internships.

If elected, I will:

Build a sell-side “prep series” (IB + markets)

Short sessions on valuation/modelling, technicals, and market basics
A clear weekly structure that is repeatable

Bring in speakers and keep it approachable

More IB and markets speakers from banks, boutiques and trading firms
Smaller Q&As and socials so it’s easier to ask questions and follow up

Add hands-on events and challenges

Occasional deal-room / trading-floor style simulations
Pitch/challenge nights with prizes (deal overview, sector theme, or market view)

Having been at pretty much every FinSoc event this year, I know what works and what doesn’t. If elected, I’ll keep sell-side events running regularly across the year with extra support during recruitment season.
