Jiashuo Meng

I am excited to run for the position of Community Events Manager for Design Engineering.

Having served as Alumni Secretary last year, I have gained valuable experience in organising events, coordinating with external partners, and supporting our cohort’s professional engagement. Through initiatives such as the IBM session and other alumni-related activities, I developed a deeper understanding of how meaningful events can strengthen our community.

This role allowed me to build strong organisational and communication skills, manage logistics, and ensure smooth collaboration between students, alumni, and industry professionals. More importantly, it showed me how impactful well-planned events can be in creating connection, confidence, and opportunity within our cohort.

Now, I would like to expand that experience into a broader community-focused role. As Community Events Manager, I hope to organise a balanced range of social and professional activities that bring people together across year groups. My goal is to create inclusive, engaging events that not only support career development but also strengthen friendships and collaboration within Design Engineering.

I am committed, organised, and genuinely passionate about contributing to our community. It would be a privilege to continue serving everyone and to help make our cohort even more connected and supportive.
