Design Engineering: DIgital Marketing Manager

One thing I’ve noticed is that some of the most impressive work in Design Engineering never really leaves the studio or the workshop. We spend hours building prototypes, coding systems, and developing ideas, but a lot of it isn’t properly visible outside our course.

That’s where the role of Digital Marketing Manager comes in. It’s about making sure the projects, events, and achievements within DesEng actually reach people, both within Imperial and beyond (insert buzz lightyear). Let’s be honest, perception matters. The way people see our course influences how they understand the work we put into it.

I’ve often found myself explaining what Design Engineering actually is, because people don’t always realise the creativity and technical depth behind it. Through stronger online presence, better storytelling of student projects, and more engaging digital content, I want to help show the innovation and potential that exists within this community.

I’d consider myself pretty “tapped in” to the current reel culture and the short-form world of online content, and I’d happily spend time making sure people are doom-scrolling through DesEng reels.
