Katia Bubenok-Honchar

Hi everyone! I’m Katia, a first-year Economics, Finance and Data Science student, and I’m running to be your Head of Buy-Side Corporate Relations.

Over the past year, I’ve been fortunate to benefit from many opportunities offered by the society, including the SEC course, office visits, networking events, and speaker sessions. These experiences helped me build valuable connections and learn more about the industry. Alongside this, I’ve also had the chance to attend insight days at Franklin Templeton and Barings, providing me with valuable exposure to how buy-side institutions operate in practice.

I know how much effort everyone here puts into their career development, and in such a competitive field, access to the right opportunities and industry networks can make a real difference.

If elected, my goal would be simple: bring even more of those opportunities to our members.

To do this, I would focus on three key priorities:

1. Expanding partnerships:

• Secure additional sponsorships and partnerships across a broad range of buy-side institutions, including private equity, hedge funds, wealth management firms, insurance asset managers, and venture capital funds.

2. Strengthening existing relationships:

• Maintain and develop strong relationships with our current partners to ensure continued collaboration and long-term engagement.

3. Delivering industry-led opportunities

• Work closely with partner firms to organise workshops, speaker events, and networking opportunities led by industry professionals.

My vision is to build on the society’s strong foundation by expanding its industry partnerships, ensuring members have access to even more impactful opportunities and direct connections with leading firms.
