Medical Education: Year 4 Coordinator

Hi, I’m Prachur! As a Cardiovascular BSc student who has recently navigated the challenges of Year 4, I understand first-hand how overwhelming the transition can feel. While MedEd provides valuable support, there are still noticeable differences in guidance, assessment clarity, and preparation across BSc programmes. I’m running to be your MedEd Year 4 Coordinator to help make support more centralised, equitable, and student-driven.

Through my leadership roles — including President of Indian Society and Oncology society and Treasurer for Surgical Society — I have developed strong organisational, communication, and collaborative skills. These experiences have equipped me to coordinate large initiatives effectively and advocate for structured, practical improvements.

My focus will be on strengthening ICA support across all BSc pathways:

Improving ICA Support

  • Earlier delivery of ICA talks so BSc students receive timely guidance, particularly those without mock formatives.

  • Collaborative talks featuring tutors from different BSc backgrounds .

  • Introducing a Data Analysis tutorial with a statistics worksheet and worked answers to better support preparation for ICA3.

  • A dedicated session focused on managing time during ICA4/5 and the intense January workload.

  • Additional targeted talks for each BSc.

Increasing Mentorship & Guidance

  • Launching a MedEd BSc Buddy scheme pairing Year 4 students with supportive Year 5 mentors.

  • Creating a clearer guidance for supervisor and project selection informed by previous cohorts.

My goal is simple: to make Year 4 more organised, transparent, and far less stressful — for every BSc student.
