Medical Education: Year 3 Coordinator

Hello everyone, thank you for reading this manifesto!

My name is Alex, a third year, and I've been an active participant in the MedEd crashcourses for two years. Some may recognise me as a lecturer in both the 1a GUM lecture and the 1b CVR lecture series.

Anyone who has known me for longer than a couple minutes understand that I am a very passionate academic. I love teaching and learning, which is the main reason I have engaged with the crashcourses in the past. I feel now is my time to have a hand in coordinating the year 3 MedEd resources and courses. I have been involved in many leadership roles, from being Head Chorister in my local church choir, to directing the ICSM Chamber Choir for two years with great success, and organising the fifth year pathology crashcourse as part of my role as PathSoc education officer, using insights from the fifth and final years.

In the role of Year 3 coordinator, I will strive to continue the tried and tested traditions of MedEd, ensuring high-quality resources and crashcourses that effectively address any difficulties experiences by next years' 3rd years. I will achieve this by gaining insights from the third years on how best to address these issues, and ensuring prioritisation of high-yield topics and comprehension rather than memorisation.

I believe I am a well-organised, honest and suitable candidate for the role of Year 3 coordinater, and I hope I can count on your vote! Thank you.
