Heyyy, I am Sherry! You may know me as the person currently in charge of the MatSoc Instagram, or as the extra loud person in corridors (sorry).

By being the Publicity Officer for the past year, I have gained in-depth knowledge about MatSoc’s operations. Helping with events & actively participating in meetings have not only taught me the logistics, but also our desperation for sponsors.

With me as your Sponsorship Officer, FREE FOOD will become a regular phenomenon again, morales will be raised and you will be fed.

On an even more serious note:

• I will collaborate closely with MatSoc Vice President to organise more elaborate Career Fairs, with companies spanning across more sectors and try to maintain active professional relationships with them.
• I will create more coherent and stand-out sponsorship proposals, tailored to the individual companies (I WILL do this as I believe mass emailing is a waste of time), along with an updated and beautifully curated poster of MatSoc’s recent achievements (live laugh love Canva).
• I am planning to use my connection to Elegoo to host+sponsor a DESIGN HACKATHON, as I personally know that they have a fondness for sponsoring design competitions, and us materials students love Design Study – especially if there're cash prizes involved.
• I will get in contact with all possible potential sponsors, using extensive methods including classic emailing, event networking, LinkedIn bombarding, handwritten letters drafting, pigeon mailing… I will not be taking silence for an answer.
