Eda Bakay
Hello everyone, I’m Eda Bakay, an aspiring final-year Biological Sciences student, and I’m applying for the role of Secretary for the Endocrinology Society. I have a strong academic interest in human physiology and metabolic disorders, particularly diabetes research, and I aim to pursue postgraduate training in either Graduate Entry Medicine or Dietetics. Alongside my studies, I am currently volunteering as an Impact Volunteer with Diabetes UK, where I support initiatives that raise awareness about diabetes and its impact on patients and communities.
As Secretary, I would focus on ensuring clear communication within the committee, maintaining organised records of meetings and events, and supporting the coordination of society activities. I would also love to help facilitate academic discussions and guest speaker events related to endocrinology, diabetes, obesity, and nutrition. I believe good organisation and collaboration are essential for creating an active and welcoming academic community.
If elected, I will bring reliability, organisation, and enthusiasm to the role and work closely with the committee to help the Endocrinology Society continue to grow as an engaging space for students interested in metabolic and hormonal health.
