Khushi Dakshini

Hi everyone, I’m Khushi, a 4th-year medical student running for Co-President of Endocrinology Society.

Over the past years I’ve been involved in several committees in roles including Publicity Officer, Secretary, Conference Chair, and Speaker/Workshop Coordinator. Through these experiences I have developed strong skills in organisation, communication, and teamwork and I feel confident contributing to the efficient running and continued growth of the society.

I also have a strong academic interest in endocrinology. My Biomedical Engineering BSc project focuses on developing a continuous hormone microneedle biosensor, designed to detect hormones in interstitial fluid using electrochemical techniques and aptamers. Working on this project has strengthened my fascination with hormonal regulation and the wide range of clinical fields connected to endocrinology.

My Vision for EndoSoc:

A New Endocrinology Teaching Series

• A dedicated teaching series exploring careers connected to endocrinology, including fertility medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, metabolic medicine, endocrine surgery, and sports science

• Career panels with clinicians, trainees, and researchers discussing different training pathways

Practical Clinical Learning

• Interactive workshops on diabetes management, thyroid disorders, hormone replacement therapy, and reproductive endocrinology

• Case-based discussions connecting endocrine physiology with real clinical practice

Mentorship and Community

• A mentorship scheme linking students with clinicians, with publication opportunities

• Networking to connect like-minded individuals

Refining Existing Society Events

• Expanding the annual Endocrinology Conference with student research posters, workshops, and networking opportunities

I aim to create opportunities that inspire curiosity about endocrinology, supporting students across all year groups.
