Rhys Wijeratne

Hi, I'm Rhys, a seasoned DE2 and I'm running for social events manager.

I'd focus on making sure our biggest DE events stay fun, welcoming and memorable. That means continuing the staple events, like Mums & Dads, Oktoberfest and Curry Night, while making sure they work well for students across every year group. I'd also like to introduce smaller extra socials so there are even more chances for people to get invovled throughout the year.

I'm approachable, organised and done enough HCD and PDE interviews to be comfotable talking to just about anyone. I've also organised large events before so I know how much planning and communication goes into making them work.

My goal is to keep the events going strong, make sure everyone feels welcome, and prove that Design Engineering does socials better than anyone else.
