Women in Business: President

Hi everyone! I'm Rita, a second-year EFDS student running to be your President of Women in Business!

Women in Business has been one of the most meaningful parts of my time at Imperial. Serving as Vice President this year has been such a privilege, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with our sponsors, organising events like EmpowerHer and Connections by Course, and helping create spaces where conversations feel genuine rather than intimidating. During my time on committee, we’ve grown to become the largest women-focused society at Imperial, something I’m incredibly proud to have helped build. Seeing members grow, whether that’s asking their first networking question or securing an internship, has been incredibly rewarding.

As President, I want to build on that foundation while protecting the warmth and community that makes WIB special. My priorities are:

Stronger long-term sponsor relationships so opportunities feel sustained, not one-off
Clearer industry pathways across finance, consulting, tech and emerging sectors
More small-group interactions alongside flagship events, where conversations feel open and personal
Expanded alumni and joint-society collaborations to widen our network and reach

Above all, I want WIB to remain a safe, supportive space, somewhere women can share uncertainties, celebrate wins, and grow in confidence together.
