Ophthalmology: Website Officer

I am excited to run for Website Officer for the Ophthalmology Society. A well-maintained website is central to the society’s ability to share educational resources, announce events, and engage members. I would be proud to ensure it is both professional and user-friendly.

Through my experience in leadership and media roles, including Secretary and Senior Social Media Lead for the Institute of Medical Ethics, British Geriatrics Society Social Media Representative, and former media roles with the British Tamil Medical Association and National Medical Research Association, I have developed strong organisational, communication, and digital management skills. These experiences have equipped me to coordinate content effectively, maintain professional online platforms, and ensure engagement with a diverse audience.

If elected, I would focus on:

Maintaining a clean, intuitive website layout that allows easy navigation and archiving of resources.
Creating a centralised hub for lecture materials, event announcements, and opportunities to ensure members can find information efficiently.
Keeping content up-to-date and engaging, with integration across social media platforms to maximise connectivity.
Collaborating closely with the committee to ensure website content aligns with the society’s educational and professional objectives.

I am committed to ensuring the Ophthalmology Society’s website is a dependable, well-organised, and accessible platform that reflects the society’s identity and supports its members’ learning and engagement.
