Eva Thomas

Hi everyone! I’m Eva, a first year Geology student, and I’m running to be your publicity officer for boxing!

Boxing has given me the confidence to feel my strongest, through the people I’ve met and from the feeling of satisfaction I get after a good training session. I’m committed to creating that same environment for everyone in our club and anyone thinking of joining.

As publicity officer, my aims are to utilise our social media to post more about general activities like weekly classes and social events, as well as inter-uni and regional competitions like BUCS. Videos can be as simple going over things we do in training sessions or something more elaborate like a day in the life of a boxer during a competition. I also think it would be fun to interview the committee members once elected, as well as the coaches in a Vogue 73 questions/WIRED tech support style. Besides this, in my free time I enjoy doing photography and editing in Photoshop/Procreate, so I have the skillset to create captivating posts to attract more members.

Overall, I want our social media page to be a source of information but also be interesting and showcase our ethos. Hence, I would like this opportunity to take our club beyond the ring and ensure it is marketed to its full potential.
