Anya Gupta
Lights. Drama. Full Desi Energy. ðŸŽ
Hi! I’m Anya Gupta, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student running for Drama AD.
If there’s one thing Indians do well, it’s drama — and I mean that in the best way possible. From full movie-style emotional monologues to dramatic “tum samajhte kyun nahi ho?” (“why don’t you understand?”) moments, storytelling is practically in our DNA. I want to createq a space where we channel that energy into something creative, chaotic, and completely iconic.
My plans as Drama AD:
Desi productions – plays inspired by Indian films, Indian families, cultural stereotypes, and those classic “log kya kahenge?” (“what will people say?”) situations we all know too well.
Theatre workshops – fun, low-pressure sessions on acting, improvisation, scriptwriting, and stage presence so anyone (even first-timers) can step into the spotlight.
Creative collaborations – encouraging members to act, direct, write, or help backstage so everyone feels part of the production.
Drama socials – script readings, Bollywood movie nights, and chill hangouts where theatre lovers (and dramatic yappers) can connect.
The goal? A dramatic corner of campus that feels like “apna ghar” (“our own home”) — loud, expressive, and welcoming.
Why me?
I bring years of experience in scriptwriting and theatrical production focused on Indian storytelling. I love acting, I love yapping, and I love engaging people in dramatic spaces.
Thank you for reading — I’d really appreciate your vote! ðŸŽ
