Kaanchana Sivamaran

Having served as the Logistics Manager for the Economics Society, I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand how our events come to life.

As Deputy President, I aim to build on that foundation by helping bring the committee’s ideas to life. I aim to do this by supporting the President in leading initiatives and ensuring that every project stays on track.

My goals for this year include:

• Support the President: By bringing new ideas to life and ensuring all initiatives run efficiently.
• Coordinate the committee: By keeping communication clear and ensuring that tasks are delegated and progress is consistent across all projects.
• Lead the fortnightly newsletter: Ensuring it’s informative and engaging while being a true reflection of the Society’s voice.
• Foster collaboration and teamwork within the committee to maintain a positive, productive working environment.
• Bridge communication between internal teams and external partners for smoother event planning and partnerships.
• Keep the Society on track: Ensuring deadlines, meetings, and projects stay well-organised and on schedule.

I don't just want to lead, I want to support. As Deputy President, I want to be someone the committee can rely on and more than anything, I want to help the Economics Society grow (not just in numbers) but also in the quality of the events and opportunities we provide.
