Rahul Pai
Hi everyone! I’m Rahul, a third-year medical student, and I’m excited to be running for Vice-President of the Oncology Society.
My interest in oncology comes from a passion for combining clinical care, research, and education. Through my involvement in other society committee roles, including Secretary and Speaker Coordinator, I’ve developed experience in organising events, coordinating speakers, and managing complex projects. This has given me a strong foundation for leading the society effectively.
Notably, I was responsible for organising all speakers and workshop leaders for the recent Clinical Genetics Conference. I coordinated communication, scheduling, and logistics, and oversaw the smooth running of the conference on the day. This experience strengthened my ability to manage large-scale academic events and lead under pressure.
As Vice-President, my priorities will be to:
-
Lead and support strategic planning, working closely with the committee to shape the society’s direction
-
Deliver high-quality events, from speaker series to workshops and conferences
-
Expand research and mentorship opportunities for students interested in oncology
-
Foster collaboration with other societies and external partners
-
Make the society inclusive and engaging, ensuring all members benefit from its activities
I’m committed to making the Oncology Society ambitious, well-organised, and impactful for every member. I would be honoured to serve as your Vice-President and help take the society to the next level.
