Lena Hamza

Hi everyone! I’m Lena and I would love to be Sponsorship and Fundraising Officer for Paediatric society. Having attended the Milestones Matter conference and been part of organising the ‘Meet the Paediatricians’ conference as a member of subcommittee, I have developed a passion for this specialty as well as an admiration for the society itself; Paeds has a really lovely atmosphere. I would love to continue being a part of this society and taken on a bigger role in driving this society to continue holding the events that it does. I am well suited to this role as I have experience in the context of sponsorship and fundraising that I gained through my role as subcommittee member for Muslim Medics. I reached out to various companies and successfully gained dessert sponsorships that contributed to the annual dinner. In addition, my committee role as charity officer for SIMA (Student Iraqi Medical Association) allowed me to further develop my skills in this context as I performed a similar role in organising our Alumni Iftar. I plan to carry these characteristics and skills I have built: being on-the-ball and working well alongside others into my role as being Sponsorship and Fundraising Officer, please vote for me!
