Nilani Nithiyananthan
I am running for Vice President of ICOGS as I am passionate about building on the society's strong foundations and expanding its events to maximise engagement, consistency, and educational value for its members.
As the current Publicity Officer for the society, I have been closely involved in creating engaging content and promoting society events. I have helped deliver both the ICOGS and ULOGS conferences, attended and hosted journal club sessions and worked behind the scenes to support the committee wherever needed. These experiences have given me a clear understanding of what works well, what needs improvement, and how we can improve continuity across the academic year.
Beyond O&G, I have held committee roles across multiple societies, including secretary, treasurer, liaison officer, and sponsorship officer, which has provided me with a well-balanced skill set that makes me well-suited for this role. I am organised, collaborative and comfortable supporting both the President and wider committee to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Aims:
- Journal club - collaborate with other societies, and invite authors of the paper to participate to enhance discussion and engagement
- Teaching series - ensure consistency, improve promotion through lecturer collaborations, and introduce incentives eg certificates
- Mentorship & socials - recruit more doctors to the mentorship scheme, introduce regular check-ins, organise termly socials
I am also excited to be running alongside Subanu, who is applying for President. We share a clear, aligned vision, and I believe we would work well together to deliver a coordinated and active committee. I would appreciate your vote for both of us!
