Anoushka Kumar
Hi everyone, I’m Anoushka, a second year medic, and I’m running to be Dermatology Society Alumni Officer!
I’ve always been really interested in dermatology because it is such a varied specialty that combines clinical care, procedures, and research in exciting ways. I know how valuable it is to hear directly from people who have been through the same journey, and alumni are the best way to get real insight into applications, electives, research, and what a career in dermatology actually looks like.
If elected, I would focus on keeping alumni connected to DermSoc and creating educational opportunities that benefit students at every stage. This could include panels, mentoring schemes, small group talks, or informal Q and A sessions that give students practical advice, guidance on career paths, and insight into different areas of dermatology. My goal would be to make these sessions engaging, approachable, and genuinely useful for everyone involved.
From my experience organising events in other societies, I know how important it is to stay organised, communicate clearly, and follow up with speakers. I am reliable and ready to take the initiative to make sure alumni feel valued and students get the most out of these connections.
I would love to help strengthen the link between current students and alumni and make DermSoc an even more supportive and educational community!
