Hey Everyone!
We’re Maurika and Sami and we’re running to be your Cardiovascular Co-Chairs!
Having been on Cardio Committee for the past two years, we’ve experienced first-hand how the society runs from the inside out. From outreach, networking events to the flagship conference in February, we understand the time, commitment and logistical competency required to run these events smoothly and we’re willing to put the hard work needed to build on the success of previous years and introduce new ideas!
We would like to:
- Establish clear one-to-one meetings with all committee members before the start of the year to set expectations and what everyone would like to gain from their experience to allow for smooth communication throughout the year.
- Introduce a new teaching series revolving around 3rd year conditions AND a new OSCE teaching series with clinical skills practice.
We work well together and would like to incorporate previous chairs’ leadership methods to improve our own skills and we will both pursue to always provide support to every member of committee throughout the year. Through our previous experiences on several different committees and roles, as well as our passion to take the society forward, we believe we’d be privileged to be your co-chairs for the next academic year!
