Immunology: MBBS Academic Officer

Hi everyone, I am Dallon Chon, and I am running for MBBS Academic Officer for the Immunology Society. 🗳️

I am standing because I want Immunology Society to be more than just a society people follow online and forget to attend. I want it to be a genuinely useful space for MBBS students: a place where immunology feels clearer, more clinically relevant, and more exciting.

As an elected Phase 1a Academic Representative, I already work on gathering student feedback, identifying common academic concerns, and communicating them clearly. I also have experience supporting academic events through Oncology Society and helping with Immunology Society conference publicity. These roles have taught me how to listen, organise, and turn ideas into sessions that students actually want to attend.

If elected, I will focus on three priorities. First, academic support: revision focused sessions and clear explanations of high yield immunology topics. Second, clinical relevance: talks that connect core immunology to real diseases, diagnostics, and treatment. Third, accessibility: creating sessions that feel welcoming for all years, whether you are struggling with the basics or want to explore research in more depth.

I also want to work closely with the committee to build stronger collaboration with related societies, so students can see how immunology links to oncology, infection, and translational medicine.

I am running because I care about making immunology easier to engage with and more valuable for MBBS students. If elected, I will be committed, approachable, and ready to put in the work.
