Dhurkka Kumanan

Hi! I’m Dhurkka Kumanan, a 2nd year Medical student running for SORA Treasurer.

I would really love to take on this role to support SORA. I have really loved being on subcommittee this year to support the conference, and I hope to contribute meaningfully throughout next year. As Secretary for a cultural society at Imperial, I have developed my skillset in organisation, communication and logistics to help run large scale events. Being on Subcommittee this year and supporting the conference has also motivated me to take on this role to support the society, having given me an initial understanding of how SORA works.

If elected as Treasurer, I will make sure to:

• Keep organised and responsible when managing the budgeting and finances of the society
• Keep the budget well-managed and clearly updated, with clear lines of communication with relevant committee members to ensure we are all kept on the same page
• Help to budget effectively for the varied events and conference to ensure society events are delivered smoothly. I will help to ensure they are delivered to a high standard whilst keeping in line with budgeting.
• Keep society operation smooth by understanding how to communicate with Union and fellow committee members
• Support fellow committee members and keep open lines of communication to help support any queries where possible
