Eda Bakay
Hello everyone, I’m Eda Bakay, an aspiring final year Biological Sciences student, and I’m excited to apply for the role of International Women’s Day Officer for Women in SET. Supporting and celebrating women in science is something I care deeply about.
I have a strong interest in women’s health research and gained experience working in an ovarian cancer research lab this summer. I am also currently volunteering with Diabetes UK, supporting initiatives that raise awareness about chronic disease and patient wellbeing.
In the future, I hope to pursue postgraduate training in either Graduate Entry Medicine or Dietetics, continuing to work in areas connected to women’s health and preventative care. As IWD Officer, I would love to help organise inspiring events that celebrate women in science while encouraging more women to pursue careers in STEM.
If elected, I will bring enthusiasm, organisation, and dedication to help make International Women’s Day a meaningful and empowering event for our community.:)
