Sayanen Sawmynaden

Hi, I am Sayanen, a second year medic! I hope to be the future Neuro Teaching Coordinator as I have a keen interest in neuro and hope to spread my passion for the domain with others. Having worked as part of the subcommittee for the teaching series this year and working with Surgical Society to gather speakers for Specialties Spotlight, I know what is required in order for the series to run successfully. I will be able to guide subcommittee members so that we can continue the teaching series. Having run the Junior Anatomy Series as part of Surgical Society, I have experience running a teaching series and I will be able to transfer my skills over to my role as teaching coordinator.

I hope to bring more to Neuro Teaching by creating resources and starting a tutorial series that can help both first and second year students with their neuro modules.

I aim to expand the role of teaching coordinator by introducing a research aspect where I will be able to strengthen our connections with neurologists to support research opportunities for students to get involved in. Similar to PsychStart, I also aim to work on building a mentorship programme where students can learn more about the roles of neurologists and neurosurgeons.

I hope to really make a difference to student life through Neuro Society!
