ICSM Vision plays a vital role in widening access to Medicine, and it is a society whose mission I strongly believe in. Everyone, regardless of background or school, deserves equal access to information, guidance, and the opportunity to pursue a career in Medicine. No student’s potential should be limited by lack of exposure or support.
I have had the privilege of supporting ICSM Vision as an MMI examiner, helping applicants practise their interview skills and build confidence. Through this experience, I have seen how transformative structured guidance and constructive feedback can be. Many talented students simply need clarity on the selection process and reassurance that they belong.
As Recruitment Officer, I would work to ensure we continue reaching a diverse pool of volunteers passionate about widening participation. Strong recruitment is essential to delivering our three flagship conferences, UCAT Day, Mastering Your Medical Application Day, and the Junior Conference, as well as outreach programmes such as Roadshow and the Dr Me Project. These initiatives have a lasting impact on aspiring medics at every stage.
I would focus on clear communication, early engagement with volunteers, and building enthusiasm around our events so we can continue delivering supportive programmes. By strengthening our volunteer base, we strengthen our ability to inspire the next generation.
I am organised, approachable, and committed to widening access to Medicine. I would be honoured to serve as your ICSM Vision Recruitment Officer and help ensure every aspiring medic has the opportunity to succeed.
