Vision: Secretary

I was introduced to Vision in my first year, when I saw a volunteering opportunity advertised. In that moment, I remembered the uncertainty that came with applying: worrying whether I was capable enough and wishing I had clearer guidance from someone who understood those fears.

That memory was what ultimately pushed me to get involved.

Volunteering with Vision allowed me to reassure students who felt the same uncertainty I once did. Inspired by that experience, I joined the subcommittee, where I gained a deeper appreciation for the committee. I saw firsthand the resilience, adaptability and dedication required to keep conferences running smoothly and to keep hope alive for aspiring medics.

I have met compelling peers and I am deeply grateful for what I have learned about communication, leadership and the responsibility we carry to widen access.

As Secretary, I would aim to ensure clear, consistent communication within the committee and with external stakeholders. I am committed to prioritise organisation, prompt responses to enquiries, accurate documentation, and keeping all members up to date so that events run seamlessly.

Being a Local Engagement Officer for Mind Health for Medical Students, I have coordinated conferences and proactively arranged and lead meetings with external partners. I am equipped with the reliability and attention to detail needed, and I am confident I can bring the same level of passion to Vision.

I am excited about the opportunity to be Vision Secretary and help ensure our behind-the-scenes organisation is as strong as the message we deliver.
