Hello everyone, I’m Alice, a first year Theoretical Physics undergraduate, and I would love to be Social Secretary for the upcoming year!
What I love most about WSET is its mission to empower and connect women in STEM. In such a demanding environment, having a space that celebrates ambition, collaboration, and friendship is incredibly important, and I want our socials to reflect that. As the largest women’s society at Imperial, we have an amazing opportunity to create fun and genuinely meaningful events.
I am currently co-founding and serving as Vice President of a new Wine Society at Imperial. Building a society from the ground up has strengthened my leadership and organisational skills, from setting a clear vision to working closely with the committee to turn ideas into well-executed events.
If elected, I would love to organise:
- Subsidised bar outings and brunch socials
- A girls’ day trip to escape the hustle & bustle of London
- Relaxing wellness socials, such as yoga (e.g. kitten yoga!) and Pilates
- STEM-themed pub quiz
- Cake picnics in Hyde Park
- Speed-friending social (especially welcoming for first years)
- A ‘Big Sister’ mixer to encourage cross-year connections
I’m passionate about creating a welcoming and fun environment where everyone can connect and make lasting friendships. In my degree, I'm used to solving complex problems, but I would rather solve the problem of how to make our socials the best part of your week!
