Aayan Qaisar – Candidate for BMBSoc Vice President
Hi, I’m Aayan Qaisar, a first-year Medical Biosciences student. I’m running for Vice President of BMBSoc because I want to strengthen the sense of community and support within our course.
Starting BMB can feel overwhelming. Much of the learning is self-regulated, and it’s easy for students to feel lost or struggle quietly. I want BMBSoc to be a space where students feel supported academically, socially, and personally.
If elected, I will focus on:
Building a stronger BMB community
- Create regular, welcoming events where students from all years feel comfortable attending and meeting others.
- Make BMBSoc gatherings something students can reliably come to and feel included.
Giving students a voice in academic exploration
- Launch a monthly student-chosen guest lecture series.
- Students vote on a biomedical topic they want to learn more about.
- Invite researchers or professionals to speak and answer questions.
Supporting students who may struggle in silence
- Promote an open and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking for help.
- Encourage connections between students across year groups.
BMBSoc already has an amazing community, and I want to help it grow even stronger.
Vote Aayan Qaisar for Vice President - to build a more supportive and connected BMB community.
