BioMedical: Vice President

Hi! I’m Emilie.

I’m running for Vice President because I believe every BMB student deserves to feel heard, supported, and represented.

As we approach the end of Term 2, I want to acknowledge how resilient our cohort has been. Year 1 introduced us to ICAs, extensive lab work, and university life at Imperial; so far, we’ve handled it with determination. However, after attending town halls and hearing the feedback raised to teaching fellows, it’s clear that there are areas where our course experience can improve.

If elected, I will focus on three key priorities:

  1. Organising more frequent and engaging ICSMU social and academic events specific to BMB.
    • This will ensure BMB is not consistently overshadowed within the Department of Medicine and will leverage its recognition through BMB-specific workshops, providing us with equal opportunities.
  2. Officialising a BMB Family Programme, whereby Year 2 students have the choice to complete a form to apply as a Parent.
    • This will strengthen relationships between Year 1 and Year 2 students, ensuring no student feels “orphaned.”
  3. Creating a more comprehensive resource bank encompassing notes, ICA tips, and a lab book guide.
    • This will help combat understaffed modules by encouraging BMB students to support one another, with advice accessible to all.

My goal is not just to collect feedback, but to ensure it leads to visible action — for our year and for future BMB students.

I want to be a Vice President who listens, represents, and delivers meaningful improvements.

Thank you for your support!
