Harold Ju
I am running for Men’s Third Team Captain because I care deeply about this squad and believe I can help us perform better, stay closely connected, and enjoy every match and training session. As a current member of the Men’s Third Team with over 5 years of fencing experience, I understand the specific challenges and opportunities our team faces.
My background includes captaining the Shrewsbury School fencing team and competing at national level in both the UK and China. These experiences have taught me how to lead by example, how to support teammates under pressure, and how to create an environment where everyone can fence at their best.
I am an actively engaged member of the team: I train regularly, support others on and off the piste, and make a real effort to include and encourage every fencer, regardless of their experience. I listen carefully, communicate clearly, and aim to make sure no one feels left out or unsure about what is happening.
If elected captain, I will focus on clear communication about fixtures, selection, and logistics, and work closely with coaches and the committee to ensure training reflects our team’s needs. I will also support the quicker processing of travel reimbursements through the Treasurer, so no one is discouraged from attending away matches due to cost or delay.
My goal is for Men’s Thirds to be a competitive, organised, and tightly knit squad where we push each other to improve and are proud to represent Imperial together.
