I'm Anna, and I'm running to be your next BioSoc Publicity officer! If elected, I’ll continue building on the fantastic work of previous publicity officers, and make BioSoc’s socials bolder, more engaging, and more inclusive.
My goals:
- Increase BioSoc event hype: BioSoc runs amazing events, they deserve amazing promotions. I will make our events unmissable with bolder announcements and countdowns.
- Make BioSoc's visuals and branding more consistent: we already have informative and creative content, but our style lacks consistency. I would use more consistent graphics to make BioSoc more recognisable and memorable.
- Improve the BioSoc website: the website is often overlooked compared to our other socials, but it's such an important platform. I want to update it regularly, improve its accessibility and upgrade the visuals.
- Expand the reach of BioSoc further: by engaging non-bio students, and also ensuring new members feel especially included. Stronger publicity means a stronger, more connected community.
My qualifications:
- Loads of experience with public communications: I have worked with the Save the Iberian Orca campaign, and the Sea Turtle Conservation Society of Greece to raise awareness about conservation challenges
- Love graphic design and very experienced with it: effective design is really important for effective communication, and I will bring this to BioSoc.
- Genuine enthusiasm: I would absolutely love working as your publicity officer, and I promise to work hard!
