Sarthak Gurung

I started boxing around four months ago and very quickly it became a bit of an obsession, I now have a burning ambition to compete. I’ve become that guy who shadow boxes in the gym, and probably anywhere with a reflective surface. I’ve come to love what this club represents discipline, resilience, and constant self-improvement, although you will occasionally see me getting told off by the coaches. Being new I remember exactly what it feels like to walk into training for the first tim, slightly intimidated, but excited. I want every new member to feel welcomed, included, and motivated to stick with boxing.

If elected, I’ll focus on 3 things: First, communication. Clear updates and organised schedules. The current sec has done a good job of this so hopefully I can continue this.

Second, dealing with the devil that is the union. I’ll make sure admin is handled properly and on time, so the club can run efficiently. I will keep hounding and harassing the union for every little drop of support they can provide us financially or in other ways

Lastly, my other main aim would be to aid other committe members. Having had committe roles myself for other clubs such as pub sec, I know it can be hard I would like to help in regard to this matter by making videos for instagram, helping design clothing, helping the show sec liase with union over funding etc. Thank you for reading my manifesto
