Hey, I’m Tom and I’m running for Treasurer of AMSA!

As I’ve thoroughly enjoyed attending AMSA events throughout my three years of medical school, I’d love to play a role in fostering a community which supports medical students just like myself.

My goals as Treasurer:

To ensure AMSA continues to thrive, I will work with the ICSMSU and other organisations to secure sponsorships and funding, allowing for further opportunities to run events at a reduced cost.

By adopting a well-structured and transparent approach when managing the budget, I will allocate resources effectively and document finances clearly, whilst working with and informing other committee members of the society’s current financial status.

I understand many students face financial pressures, therefore I will work to subsidise tickets for social events and academic talks etc, to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent our members from accessing valuable opportunities. I would also like to connect with businesses around London and explore ways to introduce discounts and benefits for our members.

Why me?

My previous experience in the hospitality industry, including handling financial transactions and working with diverse teams, has strengthened my teamwork and communication skills, ensuring I can collaborate effectively with committee members. My attention to detail and organisational skills will allow me to ensure the financial stability of the society and allow me to execute the responsibilities of AMSA’s Treasurer.
