One of my favourite BioSoc memories was the ice-skating social held with BiochemSoc at Battersea Power Station this Christmas. It wasn’t just fun — it was the first time I felt how much a well-planned event could bring people together outside the lecture hall. That evening was the moment I knew I wanted to become a social events officer.
Over the past 8 years in student leadership, including serving as student council president, I have organised charity markets with 50+ sponsors, formal balls, weekly trivia nights, animal adoption drives, bake sales, and community programmes. From logistics and budgeting to sponsorship coordination and atmosphere, I’ve learned how to create events that are organised, inclusive, and enjoyable.
If elected, I hope to bring themed trivia nights, more freshers events, cross-society collaborations, conservation charity events, and at least one flagship event each term — whether that’s a Bio Ball or an end-of-term celebration.
I want BioSoc to feel welcoming, thoughtful, and alive. A place where friendships form naturally and everyone feels comfortable attending.
With experience, care, and a genuine passion for building community, I feel ready to take on this role.
I would be truly grateful for your vote.
