Hi, I’m Anastasia, a first-year Medical Biosciences student running as your PASS President.
Throughout my first year, I was involved in the PASS subcommittee: participating in flagship events (Famine24, Cambridge IUQ, KCL Colours of Life) and acting as SS subcommittee representitive. PASS provided a home away from home and allowed bonding with my closest friends - hence I’d like to provide the same welcoming community for the upcoming cohort next year.
I'm running for president in hopes of improving PASS and its inclusivity/engagement for upcoming cohorts. If elected, my vision involves establishing more varied inter-university social opportunities (weekends away, volunteering, karaoke, games nights), developing entertaining and captivating social media material for public engagement, and fostering professional networking through career-related events.
My experience and passion for service and current affairs demonstrate my suitability for president. I studied IBDP Global Politics due to my interest in gaining insight into worldwide affairs. I also organised various events in secondary school, including:
- An inter-school event with 800+ attendees advocating for cultural diversity - raised HKD12,000 for NGO HK Unison
- Designed and hosted my school’s science competition
- Worked with charity Kids4Kids, leading 40+ volunteers to support underprivileged kids with their English literacy and speech.
These experiences demonstrate my desire to serve others and make meaningful impacts on the immediate community and beyond. Overall, I hope this shows my capability and eagerness to serve PASS and why you should vote for me as your President for next year!
