Serra Yenilmez

Hello everyone! I am Serra, a second-year Biological Sciences student, and I am excited to apply for the Marketing Officer role.

Alongside my academic focus in biology, I have a strong interest in how scientific innovation translates into real-world impact through entrepreneurship. Through engaging with biotech research and industry discussions, I have become increasingly interested in how communication and outreach connect students with innovation opportunities.

This year, I contributed to the Plug and Play initiative offered through this society, which gave me insight into how startup ecosystems operate and how collaboration between students, innovators, and industry partners can foster entrepreneurial thinking.

Through marketing, I hope to promote events clearly and creatively, increase engagement, and highlight practical career pathways, startup culture, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I believe effective marketing is ultimately about storytelling, communicating ideas in a way that inspires participation, and I would love to become a part of this inclusive and dynamic entrepreneurial community.

My long-term goal is to work at the intersection of science, innovation, and business, helping translate scientific discoveries into real-world healthcare solutions. I see this role as the perfect opportunity to develop those communication and outreach skills while contributing meaningfully to an inclusive and dynamic entrepreneurial community.
