Book: Vice Chair

Books aren't just about stories and storytelling, it's also about connecting through various perspectives and opinions. As Vice Chair, I'd like to help create a welcoming, engaging and lively Book Society community. I care about making everyone feel comfortable and valued, so that each member feels welcomed in each discussions. I would vary our meeting styles to include debates, themed nights, quiz nights and cinema nights (after which we gather to compare with the original book versions) to keep things interesting and change our environments more often, hosting more socials overall. I'll support the chair as best I can and step up when needed to take up more responsabilities, emailing, funding, keeping track and creating voting polls. I aim to make each meeting feel relaxed and homely, so that everyone in the society can feel at ease and free to speak their minds. I would also propose collab ideas with different societies such as Art, Felix, History, Tea, and Baking (among others open to change!) where based on the theme of our monthly book picks, we could connect with other members around the university to inspire more creators/ or simply just build a strong network!! :)
