Women in SET: Publicity Officer

Hello everyone!

I’m Cheng Xin, a second-year Chemistry student, and I’m excited to run for Publicity Officer of Women in SET.

WSET plays an important role in empowering women across Science, Engineering, and Technology by creating valuable career and networking opportunities. I would love to contribute by ensuring these opportunities reach and inspire even more students through strong and engaging publicity.

As Publicity Officer, I aim to:

1. Strengthen Social Media Presence
I will create consistent, eye-catching and informative content across all platforms to increase engagement and visibility. From event highlights to speaker spotlights and career tips, I want our social media to be both inspiring and practical.

2. Design Impactful Event Posters
Clear and visually appealing posters are key to attracting attendance. With my creativity and attention to detail, I will design professional, cohesive and recognisable graphics that reflect WSET’s empowering brand.

3. Increase Outreach and Engagement
I hope to introduce more interactive content such as countdowns, Q&As, behind-the-scenes posts and member testimonials to build excitement and strengthen our community.

Why me?
I am organised, proactive, and detail-oriented. As a Chemistry student, I balance creativity with structure, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality output. Most importantly, I am passionate about promoting initiatives that empower women in SET.
