African Caribbean: Web Administrator

ACS is a second family to me and, through becoming web admin, I want to ensure that the ACS of 26/27 has a strong online presence through the website.

My three main objectives are:

1. Revive the website

The current website’s security certificate has expired (icacs.co.uk) so our current cohort of members have not been able to engage with any web-based content. As someone self-training in cybersecurity, I can ensure that the website it up-to-date with the latest security standards whilst being functional and easy to use.

2. Integrate the website within ACS

One thing that I believe would be beneficial for first year students is starting an ACS blog series on the website! Here, ACS members from different departments can write up about their experiences at Imperial and share some tips about finding your people; knowing the best places to get hair done or shop for Afro-Caribbean ingredients and more. The blog articles will be available on the website whilst any additional short term content can be posted onto Instagram and our other socials.

3. Modernise the website

Drawing inspiration from the old https://imperialcollegeacs.weebly.com website, I want the website to represent the liveliness and variety of our different nations and cultures whilst also including information about the current committee, events we have on offer and our sponsorships.

Make sure to use all 3 of your options when voting! Good luck to everyone and happy voting 😊
